Description

A very very large alligator and two unconcerned roseate spoonbills photographed at the Donnelley Wildlife Management Area in northern Beaufort County, South Carolina. Female gators grow to about 10 feet, males to 18 feet. Short of going out there with a tape measure I don't know how big this male gator is. My best guess is about 15 feet. This lagoon is really a small lake with a lot (over 100?) gators in it.
