Description
In the 1950s Joseph Stalin, fearful of an American invasion of Russia placed something like 25 of these barracks along the Siberian coast to ward off the US Forces should they come across the straits. Unoccupied now with their roofs having rotted they stand as a grim reminder of the Cold War. As we drove north from the port of Proovideniya we saw many of these empty remains.
