Artist's Description

This image was taken on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on a December morning. Every year the area where I live participates in the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count. This is a very big deal as Audubon uses the data to see how how specific species are thriving or not, or moving their habitat due to global warming. As we approached these ibises they took off and I got a nice shot of that initial lift off.
