Clovelly is a small village in Devon, England. It has a harbour and is notable for its steep pedestrianised cobbled main street, donkeys and views over the Bristol Channel. At the 2011 census, the parish population was 443, which was 50 fewer than ten years previously. It clings to a 400 foot cliff in North Devon and has no vehicular traffic on its steeply cobbled street, just donkeys and sledges. It is a beautiful picturesque fishing village, steeped in maritime atmosphere and history and was once owned by the Queen of England.
From Elizabethan days until today, Clovelly has been in private ownership, which has helped preserve its original atmosphere. It has many literary and artist connections; Charles Kingsley, Charles Dickens, William Turner and Rex Whistler, all help to make this a unique place. Kingsley lived here, Dickens wrote about it, Turner painted it and Whistler featured it in much of his work.

Jerry Griffin retired after a career with Eastman Kodak and is living in Hilton Head, South Carolina. In his photographic career he has been a judge, author, consultant, teacher and speaker across the U.S. He has won over 250 medals and ribbons in international salons. His works have been hung in the Kodak CEO's office. After retiring he served as the Kodak Ambassador in the National Parks and on cruise ships.
